Pillar 03 · Build AI Workflows · Proof artifact

Sample workflow library

Every workflow in the practice is designed the same way: a blueprint first, with the owner, the human checkpoint, the data scope, the kill switch mapping, and the success metric named before any build sprint is sold. These are sample blueprints by sector, in the format a Design Sprint produces.

Finance operations · All sectors

Invoice reconciliation assistant

Matches invoices to purchase orders and receipts, drafts the exception list, and prepares payment files. It never pays.

Named owner
Controller (client side)
Human checkpoint
Every payment file approved by the owner before release
Data scope and zones
Invoices and vendor master (AMBER, attested only). Payroll lake is RED and blocked at design.
Kill switch
Layers 1 to 4 mapped at attestation; quarterly drill
Success metric
Cycle time and cost per case against the pre-build baseline
Design verdict
READY FOR BUILD Verified at day 90 in Oversee: cycle 26h to 7h, cost per case $18.50 to $9.20, errors 4.1% to 1.8% (demonstration figures).
Client services · Professional services and government contractors

Support drafting copilot

Drafts answers to recurring support questions from approved material, cites the source, and routes anything sensitive to a person.

Named owner
Support operations lead
Human checkpoint
Every external reply reviewed until the workflow earns assisted mode exit criteria
Data scope and zones
Approved knowledge base (GREEN). Customer record exports are RED.
Kill switch
Layers 1 to 4 mapped; vendor intake standard applies if bought, not built
Success metric
First response time and rework rate
Design verdict
READY FOR BUILD Red team note carried into design: prompt injection through crafted customer attachments.
Government and healthcare · Intake

Citizen and patient intake triage

Sorts incoming requests, assembles the case file, and flags urgency. It does not decide eligibility, care, or outcomes.

Named owner
Intake supervisor
Human checkpoint
Every routing decision visible; adverse or urgent flags go to a human first
Data scope and zones
Intake forms (AMBER). Case record lakes follow the agency's own zone declarations.
Kill switch
Layers 1 to 4 mapped; incident plan generated from the ledger
Success metric
Time to first human contact and misroute rate
Design verdict
DESIGN FIRST Data readiness audit required on the case lake before build.

Meeting and reporting assembly

Collects status inputs once, drafts the weekly report and meeting pack, and chases what is missing instead of a human doing it.

Named owner
Chief of staff or operations manager
Human checkpoint
Report approved before distribution; sources cited per claim
Data scope and zones
Project status systems (GREEN to AMBER by client declaration)
Kill switch
Layers 1 to 4 mapped at attestation
Success metric
Hours returned per week, measured against the snapshot baseline
Design verdict
READY FOR BUILD The classic first workflow: visible time savings, low risk, named owner.
Finance · The govern first example

Autonomous vendor payments

A client asked for payments that run themselves. The opportunity score was high on value and high on risk: autonomy, money movement, and irreversibility.

Named owner
Treasurer (required before design proceeds)
Human checkpoint
Not yet designed. That is the point of the verdict.
Data scope and zones
Banking credentials never enter an agent scope. Ever.
Kill switch
Would require all four layers plus bank side controls before any build
Success metric
Defined only after the governance pass
Design verdict
GOVERN FIRST High value does not outrank irreversibility. The practice sells the governance pass first, and says so in the proposal.

The workflow your snapshot names

The library grows from client bottlenecks, not from a catalog. The Readiness Snapshot and the Census Sprint produce the candidate list; the Design Sprint turns the top candidate into a blueprint in this format.

Design Sprint
$12,500 per workflow, credited toward the build
Build sprints
$18,500 per two week sprint; a typical first workflow takes 4 to 8
Gate
No blueprint passes with unnamed owner, ungated destructive tools, undeclared data, or an unmapped kill switch
Start with the Snapshot

Why blueprints before builds

Retrofitting governance costs roughly three times designing it in. Every blueprint is red teamed before build sprints are sold, specifies what the agent must present at every boundary it crosses, and names its telemetry and evaluation metrics up front, so Oversee can verify value at day 90 instead of arguing about it.
